Hi
First, the Christian has a 3 fold enemy, the world, the flesh and the devel.
The world draws us away into things which take up time and energy which may not be bad in themselves, but keep us from God.
The flesh, or self desires things which satisy our inner desires, which are often away from God. The flesh is our sinful desires and combats the new nature which we have in Christ.
The devil is a real person who desires to destroy anything which would bring honor to God and to Christ.
You ask why is it so difficult? The Christian is in a spiritual war and in Christ is given the victory. He gives us his Holy Spirit within to guide us and keep us close to good. We must allow him to have the victory if we are going to stay close to God and our faith.
We can prevent becoming stagnant when we keep a daily communican going with God. First by reading and studying his word and secondly by spending quality prayer time. God will become very real to us, since he wants to know us better. What a friend and heavenly Father we have, who cares when the sparrow falls, how much more when one of his children stumbles
I hope this helps

Madevali:
Your question is an old and long sought-after quest. You didn't mention what faith but if your faith has scriptures that come with it, then reading those scriptures will help a lot. Fellowshipping with others of your faith is also a good cure for stagnation. A constant pursuit of the focus of your faith, God, by whatever name He has in your faith, is also another way to keep your faith alive. I don't wish you luck with faith, I wish you joy in your belief.
Sincerely,
zeke

The Church tries to protect us. But by doing so, they keep us
ignorant.
Then, when one discovers the truth is things, they turn their
backs on the church. Thinking they have been lied to. And
they throw everything they learned in the trash.
We are living in a time when what we know and understand will
determine how we end up. Whether that be in a positive reality, or a negative one.
When you learn new things, ADD them to the knowledge you
already have. There are many references in scripture about
so-called NEW teachings. Which are only OLD teachings being
made public.
Wicked people use knowledge to control others.
Righteous people use knowledge to gain self-control.

Hello!! :o) Having faith is much like dedicating yourself to getting into shape. It's not always easy. We have to WORK at it. For the world is [basically] anti-faith. At least - anti-faith in God. Committing yourself to prayer each day - many say - is a good place to start. I think it's also important to take time out to smell the roses. [So to speak] It's SO easy to get caught up in the day-to-day things of life - that we often struggle with our faith simply because we have yet to make faith a habit - a part of our lives. Have a great day!! Craig!! :o)

Stagnation is important part of your faith's renewal, in my opinion. How will you know if the waters of your faith are raging, if there are never times when the waters are still? This is what St. John of the Cross called the "Dark Night of the Soul."
Take this time to pray... and pray a lot. Renewal will come. You just have to be patient.

You have asked the wrong question, as I do not have a faith. However, ignoring that point, I would suggest that you see the reality of life and just give up with religion totally. It is all a stack of lies designed by man to provide control over the populace through fear and false promises. Ignore all the crap above and see yourself and the rest of the life-forms on this planet as "This is all there is". Learn to cope with that fact.
The evidence is there before you if you were only to open your eyes and your mind - and then start asking the right questions. The one that you have asked is the wrong one.

Difficult because we live in the flesh. Apostle Paul said we are to die daily. We have to humble ourselves before a mighty God. The bible says our rightousness is as dirty rags. Yet He loved us enough to give His only son...that at while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. The only way to prevent becoming stagnant is to stay in the bible, pray without ceasing, and seek God in everything you do. God bless you, honey...may you find rest in Christ Jesus.

Challenge it. Read things that are of a different view and see where you stand on those views. I was once told, "Faith is like a muscle... if you don't work on it, it gets weak and eventually is of no use."
