if you are taking a calcium channel blocker, stay away from potassium. some water pills are potassium conserving so always check. usually potassium is needed to live. only your dr. should tell you to avoid it, but i also know some kidney patients must handle it with care, depends on what type it is. many over the counter books listing drugs and minerals may be the place to start. they tend to list what things should be avoided with medications and diseases.
