I Love you can hold many meanings, and is largely dependent upon the context from whom it is spoken, and in the manor in which it is implied.
For example I can tell my mother, my girlfriend, or my brother that I love them, and while the fact is true for each, it is also much different for each.
Every person needs to know that they are loved, and " I Love You " is a word which I love to use often.
If it is used to loosely with out true intent, then it would become meaningless, and actually only serve to hurt those whom it was meant to help, therefore personally I feel that it should always be accompanied by actions which serves justice to the true meaning of the word, however in a manor consistent with its intent and meaning.
However for me personally I find that when others tell me that they Love me the meaning is most genuinely hollow, as their actions toward me usually indicate the contrary, as most people do not really know what love is, and only love to use you.
I believe that love is me being here right now, trying to share my thoughts with those whom I do not know personally with no reward intended or implied, and the point thing, well that really does not count for anything as it is only a number.
Hope this helps, Love Thoughtful :)

Love? lol. I'm in love. You want to know how I feel. I feel I can achieve anything in life. When I'm down, one look at her smile and it just makes me go yaaaaaahoooooooooooo!!! It's been more than just a month that I've met her. No it's not infatuation. Another guy is in love with her. I was actually too nice and too self-sacrificing when I thought letting her be with him was best, that if she was meant for me, then she would come back. Then I told her to leave him and me and to see who she wants to go for. I realized she's like me, she cannot stay alone. She needs someone, someone special. While I pushed her away from me, hoping that she would come back to me, I didn't realize that it was the wrong thing to do.
I mean, we both believe we're soulmates. If she's a part of me, then how can I even think about letting her go, how can I even think about sacrificing her to someone else? I am the man, who has to express how I feel for her. How could I have been so stupid? How could I have been so blind to turn love away when it was knocking on my door?
Then she couldn't bear it anymore. Each second she spent with him, she was thinking about me, she wanted me, not him. And I still didn't get the hint, wanted something more. More? What more can I want than the girl telling me who she wants to be with? She keeps asking me what she's supposed to do.
So I had to see her, I had to see her no matter what. He was supposed to meet her for dinner. I asked her I want to see her only for 5 mins. She said ok. She called him, told him to pick her up later. I went. I told her how much I love her and how I was so foolish to let a part of me to someone else. If someone wanted my hand just because it was strong and beautiful, would I cut it out and give it to that person? but it's not my hand, it's something so much important. All this life is about how we feel each and every day, and she is the person who makes me feel so confident, so calm, so excited, so enthusiastic, indomitable spirit, religious, and someone who can achieve my dreams and help her achieve hers.
And now it is a matter of time before that guy is out of her life. It hurts to think about him spending time with her. That's what happens when you let time go, when you let the one you love go.
Love is a feeling. Yes. A feeling you need. And when you need it, you should do whatever it takes to hold on to it. Not clingy, not dominating, but simply you need it and there's no way about it. It's inevitable. Both sided, and passionate. Ultimate feeling is when you make love, have sex, go crazy, do everything, with the person you feel this way...the person you love.
And I know in my heart, that this is just the beginning...of a thing called love.
It gets to a point when it's purely unconditional. I love you is something you say whenever you feel it.

It means they have eyes only for you, feel a deep tenderness for you, and think you're ultimately special...or they're trying to manipulate you into doing something you wouldn't otherwise do. Is this "I love you" being followed by a request of any kind? If so, they're trying to play you...if they're just saying it, and you're involved in a steady long term relationship, they probably mean it...
