THERE IS NO PRESENT CURE FOR PSORIASIS, but there are a number of drugs and treatments that can relieve and control psoriasis, often for long periods of time. Psoriasis on its own can come and go often with long periods of remission. In most cases, however, psoriasis is persistent. It can come and go without any obvious reason. Psoriasis does not necessarily become worse with age. Psoriasis can occur at any age from infancy to the elderly. Psoriasis will often remain in small localized areas and never spread.

I had a 13 year history of psoriasis, though I was in good health otherwise. But these severe large, thick and scaly excoriated plaques on my neck, ears, trunk and limbs ruined the way I was leading my life. I would be with red, inflamed itchy skin for most part of the year and these silvery scales would seem to be erupting without any reason. To make matters worse, blisters would appear over already red and itching skin. It was living hell.
I was treated with various options but nothing seemed to be working. Some of the treatments that I underwent in this depressing period of 13 years included tar preparation, tropical steroids and anthralin. I was also given light therapy many times but everything I tried would give me temporary relief.
And soon, after a few days I would be plagued with the situation again. In one of those moments when I was completely lost I stumbled upon this website just by chance. I read it and felt that as if someone had put the story my life on this web page. I was thoroughly convinced that if ANYONE can cure me of condition, it would be you.
And was I right, or what. I started recovering within 3 days of starting this treatment. Something that had become a painful part of me for 13 years was actually getting healed! My ears are healed and my neck is smooth again!. I am a month into the treatment and I have never felt better in my life!

There isn't a cure for it, unfortunately. I have guttate psoriasis and honestly, you just need to go to a dermatologist. I was prescribed a wonderful cream for mine and I haven't had an outbreak in over a year. Also, hydrocortizone creams such as Cortizone-10 works wonders for me and other people I know with this condition. Cortizone-10 is something you can get at any drugstore for like $5. It might help you. Getting some sun also helps relieve psoriasis. I've always been a very pale, indoors-y person, but during an outbreak, I decided to bottle up my self-conciousness and go out to the pool (i hated it because my stomach was covered in spots) but it was worth it and it relieved the spots immediately. And don't scratch :) You don't want to scar!

I was diagnosed with psoriasis at age 14 and now I am 36 years old. You can say that I have tried just about every medicine both approved by FDA and trial without much success. Examples include Enbrel, Humira, oral meds, creams, oils, salts, coal tar, etc and the list is much more extensive that I can't even remember all of the names. But recently after someone shared this video https://tr.im/CuresPsoriasis2015iTq7 everything has changed. My psoriasis completely cleared by putting these changes in place. I only wish I'd taken photos of before and after because it truly has been miraculous. I am getting married in Oct, 2015 and I am wearing a strapless gown that also shows my back and I am confident (not like before) that my skin will be soft and pretty vs red and flakey.

RE: is there a cure for psoriasis?
I have tried many creams and been to many dermetologists since i was 7. nothing has worked. being 16 it is hard for me to have a social life that is good. people ask what it is on my body i tell them what it is and they just walk away. they say psoriasis can be caused by stress they say not to stress but how can you not stress when you have these scaley things all over you. what would be a dream come true would be to be in a room with people just like me, just so i can wear a t-shirt and shorts without being ashamed. please anyone help me find a cure...it means more than you would know. ím beggging help me...!! i need it to be gone

You poor thing! You're right, it is a viscious circle...the more you worry and get upset about your psoriasis the more you breakout in it. I don't think there is a real 'cure' for it but there are creams out there that can help. Any cream or skin treatment with Dead Sea Salts in can help and I've also read that taking Zinc supplements in the form of vitamin tablets is good too. It's something worth trying but remember that it takes a good month to get the vitamins inside you and for them to start working. Other than that I would suggest that you use the internet to research the skin condition, especially America who are very up to date with their treatments. If you go to www.nhsdirect.nhs and search 'Psoriasis' then it gives you lots of advice and also Holland and Barrett have a machine in alot of their bigger stores that offers information on herbal remedies. Good luck and I hope that something works for you.

Know what you mean - lived with mine for 30 years.
Yes sun helps a little, but problem is largely genetic. Tried most of the creams out there without success. My GP eventually referred me to local hospital for UV treatment (sort of like a tanning machine - but different frequencies) - this did clear it up in course of about 12 weeks - and you do get a quite nice all over tan on the NHS. However it came back within 6 months, and continued UV treatment can be damaging to the skin - melanomas, ageing etc.. Don't bother with your local tanning studio the type of UV is wrong.
I now use baby oil or baby oil Gel after a bath and add some oil to the water. This keeps the skin well moisturised and some of the very stubborn spots are actually clearing up at last. You could also try some natural oils - such as Almond Oil or peanut oil - I am informed they are more likely to nourish the skin - although almond oil was not bad for me, it is expensive and absorbed rather more quickly. Sadly a permanent cure is a long term battle.

Hi there,
Home remedies are the lowest cost treatments for dealing with psoriasis. More often than not, they are all-natural cures and won’t harm you with harsh side-effects. Not all results work for all people and it may take trying a few different remedies to find one that works for you.
You can find some of the most popular home remedies available to treat your psoriasis on this site: http://psoriasis.toptips.org

Two books that offer good advice and suggestions are:
Digestive Wellness - Elizabeth Lipski
Prescription For Natural Cures - Balch and Stengler
Psoriasis is not a simple problem with a one shot 'cure'. The references cited will give you good insight and options for dealing with your case.
Good luck!
