I have a friend who was terribly abused by parents and went to an abusive foster home and later went to a rather unloving Christian home and she doesn't like to consider God in her life. Did your childhood make you who you are or something that happened to you?

I was kidnapped when I was young and I never blamed God but at one time I thought God hated me.

I am so glad I open my bible and he came into my life, and when I grew up more, I realized I was lucky, most children are murdered when they are kidnapped by strangers.

Praise God through the good times and the bad.

I can totally understand how she feels. She was hurt and conned by a bunch of hypocrites. Its very common, believe me. At this point no, I don't blame "god" for anything. Of course I don't believe in god and I won't go near the churches. Too much abuse, and the denomination doesn't matter. Just be supportive to your friend and don't try to proselytize her. She has been through a lot and it may take her a life time to work it through. Overcoming my childhood is making me who I am, and I don't need to depend on some mythical higher power to fix me. I do however always look to my conscience and code of ethics for direction.

Boy do I ever! About seven years ago, I just minded my own business. I wasn't very religious and never cared to be. If someone offered to share their religion, I'd politely tell them I wasn't interested. Well there was this group of four guys going around the neighborhood trying to share the gospel. They ran into me around the same place and time, usually at a bus stop while I was on my way to work. One day, I turned them down, and the leader of the group became enraged and they all jumped on me. I was out for a couple of days with most of my ribs broken, and I was all black and blue. When we went to trial, because of a technicality, the case was dismissed, and they all praised Jesus for being delivered from justice.

If there is a second coming, mark my words, Jesus will have to face my judgment. I intend to let him know what it feels like to suffer at the hands of his servants.

No, I don't blame God for anything, that would be stupid. People who do things and want to "blame God" are just lazy and their trying to justify their actions, people need to grow up!

Why blame God, since we don't know for sure whether God really exist. One have to take responsibility for ones own doing. Sometimes it's beyond that persons control, but too bad... it's just pure bad luck. Things will change if one really want it to change.
