Generic medicines work as well as the "non-generic" but are less expensive because of its different properties that go into making the generic med. So why do people mistaken generic medicine as FAKE when it isn't exactly FAKE or ILLEGAL? This really give generic meds a bad name.

Generic in the US have the same properties as the name brands- they just don't have to pay for all that advertising and crap that the big drug companies charge for- Now if you order online - no telling what you get or where it comes from- how would you know- now those may be fake- esp if the price is way too good- Iike to use the pharmacy-D-

If you are based in America then I can give you one answer to why generic medicines are viewed as 'fakes'.... the profit motive of big drug companies!
In the UK _all_ generic drugs have to meet _exactly_ the same criteria of efficacy as proprietry (branded) drugs.
So the only difference is that generic drugs cost less - an important point for those Americans (like a friend of mine) who have to buy their own drugs.
