Hydrocodone is not supposed to knock you out or relax you. It is meant to relieve pain. One of the problems is that it does not work for everyone. Personally, I have found that among Schedule 3 narcotic analgesics, Tylenol with codeine is very effective. My preference is Tylenol 4. Meds with hydrocodone, such as Vicodin, do nothing for me.

If you're not in pain, and need something to help you sleep or relax, perhaps you should consider tranquilizers or muscle relaxants.

I have the same problem the Drs think it is because I have AHDD and that muscle relaxers and pain killers have a paradoxal effect instead of slowing you down it speeds you up

you will build up a resistance to it very quickly,, like in a week or two. Increasing the dose will only sort of help. It is only effective in a very short term.

Damn, it made me really sleepy and nauseous. I would lay in bed torn between falling asleep and going to the bathroom to puke. That's a horrible combination, like getting really drunk and wanting to go to sleep but you feel sick and have the bedspins.
