today at formation i was told my hair cut was eccentric, that i would find the article pretaining to usmc hair regulations and read it infront of the entire battery on monday as well as get a hair cut before securing to liberty now that being said my hair is 2.7 inches in length on the top with a high fade. so far all i've found is MARINE CORPS ORDER P1020.34G W/CH 1-4 and it is not clearly stated in any means other than 3 inches on top and the 0 to 3 fade so could someone please inlighten me as to whom is allowed to deam a hair cut eccentric now my hair fits under my cover and cevlar and why i would have to cut my hair when it is in reg.

Stop being a jack *** and cut your damn hair. 2.7 inches is to long, yes 0-3 is regs but does it really look good. Think of it this way 0-3 is a suggestion! Keep it shorter it looks better.

Even though your cover fits do you have hair sticking out from under the cover? Hair that protrudes from head gear is consider excessive regardless of length. If it isn't sticking out is it spiked? 3 inch spikes are pretty eccentric.

Oh, make sure there's no regulation against shaving it bald, either. I hear the british have that.

And I never got the hair issue. There was a recruit who claimed that he should be able to keep his ponytail just because women are allowed them too. He didn't last long.
Just shave it off, then you have one less thing to worry about. Besides, without hair you wont get lice, and it'll be a lot more pleasant if you can't wash your hair all the time.

Long hair could be unpractical and dawnright dangerous. I think that short hair make the impression of being cutted of from soceity more clear than if any hairstyle would have been tolerated. Dont force this matter if you want to be a marine man! Worser things will come! Johan
