What do you all think. After all this country is blessed. Our principles have meant that we are a force for good and we are rewarded by God for our efforts. We have clean water, wealth and live in peace. Do you think, like I do, that God rewards good people and punishes bad people by making them poor. In my opinion its not a coincidence that God makes all Muslim countries poor and all Christian countries rich.

God is in the form of anything you want him to be. You say this country is blessed but if think about were cursed. Yes, other countries wish to have what we do, but then their also hating on us so bad they are constantly trying everything to destroy us. Just look at 9/11 attacks. Some people say that was a wake up call to us americans to realize that we are not as in controll as we thing and not let our arrogance turn a blind.Yes we have all the good things in our country but from the hard work blood sweat an tears of our ancestors. Not to mention all the terrible tragedies that were inflicted on people during this countries formation. Our politics have not for the most part been built on the best of principles. Being poor has nothing to do with being a bad person or country, after all Jeasus Christ wasn't a rich man when he walked the earth and he won't be a rich man when walks the earth again. Now if God only gave wealth to good people and made the bad ones poor, why would he not have made his own son a rich man. And for the record do some more research and you will see not all muslim countries are poor and all christian countries are not rich.

I am a christian and am so ashamed. Your question is not helpful. Christianity is about helping those that are less fortunate than yourself. I am fortunate. I live in a beautiful area of the world and try my best to help others. I arrange jumble sales and make cakes that I sell for charity. All this may sound irrelivant but there is so much poverty and bad things happening in the world and I think every-one should do a few little things to make the world a better place. I am very upset at your question. I am scared at about all the hatred in the world and you are certainly not a Christian. You are giving your country a bad name. My late husband was from Idaho and although we chose to live in the cotswolds I have fond memories of the time we spent in that wonderful country. God has not rewarded America with wealth. Wealth is meaningless to God. America is a force of good in the world but I feel that the western world has lost its focus. Perhaps we should look towards the Asian countries for enlightenment. I am a Christian but was moved when I visited Bangkok and realised that although Thailand is not as wealthy as the western world it has an enormous wealth on a spiritual level. For a Christian you have no wealth on a spiritual level. Nothing you say even suggests you are a Christian. If you are an American you should consider the damage you outragous question is doing to the reputation of your beautiful country.

Oh boy - Bahrain is a Muslim country and it is NOT poor, it's one of the wealthiest countries in the world, largely due to petroleum, and the main consumer of petroleum is the US - hey, how about that, you've made Muslims rich!

By the by, Ireland is officially a Christian country (there are those who argue that this is just a thin layer of Christianity, underneath it we're all mad Pagans), and until comparatively recently Ireland was very poor.

I'm still trying to figure out whether or not you're trying to take the piss out of America or not. If you're not American, tsk tsk, stop pretending to be, they're not all bad, they just have bad taste in leaders; if you are American, full marks for effort, keep up the good work. ;-)

I think you should rephrase that....You are rich because you exploit the poor...so your god gives you the power to ruin other people's lives so you can live a nice an comfy life. Your the richest country in the world but still has a very very very slack social system....so are you saying god only loves white people? Lets look at the latest hurricane that hit you and how much you god loving government did for them.....If that's your god i think I'll go without thank you. As for christian countries being rich...well if you go to rape and pillage in the name of Jesus well then yes. Be aware china is coming to bite you septic tanks in the ***

Don't you just wish the USA was poor like Saudi Arabia or Kuwait or and of the other OPEC countries, or Brunei, the richest country per capita in the world. God Bless America.

Who do you think wants the kind of peace that produced 9/11.

Isn't it strange that God overlooked Oklahoma & Tenessee when distibuting all that good luck. Must be he doesn't approve of cheap whiskey or farmers.

Aren't you so lucky to have God making sure you get what you deserve.

Satan can also bring earthly riches and good food and water beyond imagination. The poor mans wealth is in Heaven. Poor and rich nations is just but economics and nothing to do with religion. Big nations feed off small nations to maintain a world balance. Some of the poorest nations in Africa are pedominantly Christian. Wake up to the real issues of global unfairness!!!!

That is the most ignorant thing I have ever heard in my life. A country having wealth and power doesn't mean God is on their side. The Roman Empire, Greeks, Chinese Empire and so on were Rich and powerful eventhough they weren't Christian. Some Middle Eastern Countries are very well off because of their Oil supplies.

And what do you base your 'richness' on. You are only third on a league table behind Luxemburg and Norway; it is based on gnp not overall wealth! God if he exists would choose not to be an american as regardless of your thoughts there are far better countries out there who's principals are better then yours. Best check you facts, 5th richest man in the world comes from Saudi Arabia and he is a Muslim!

America is full of money. Money created by the evil forces that plot evil plans. It is the beginning of the end for the evil empire. The wars it has forced upon the world are going to cause America and her evil allies to lose its wealth. It demands oil from the world but it can no longer dictate to the world. The oil rich Muslim world will sell its oil to other emerging super powers and America will die. Its evil ways can not be tolerated any more. America is dying because of its evil ways.

I don't believe that at all. God has no allegience to any particular country.

I believe that the US has succeeded because of all the efforts and sacrifices we have made. Think about it. Coming across the oceans to get here, braving the elements of a new land, fighting for our rights and standing up against other nations, etc.etc. We are from a long list of people who decided to take on a challenge. I realize not everyone who is in the US got here on their own free will, but most of our ancestors did. So wouldn't you assume that we come from a long list of people who are willing to put for the extra effort to get what we want, to have the best place to live?

About the rest of the question, no, God doesn't shut out particular countries to make them rick or poor. God also doesn't make people poor just to "get back at them." It doesn't work that way. Sometimes, bad things happen to good people - I don't know why but it does. You accept it, keep the faith, pray, and try to get your way out of the situation. Most problems that we have are of our own making - some aren't. It is just up to us to pull our way out, with the guidance of the Lord to help show us the way. I think of it this way, little birds who are ready to fly sometimes need a push to make them leave the nest. Couldn't that be what the Lord is doing with us? Don't we need to learn on our own? If we are given everything, then how can we appreciate the things we have? Isn't it better to work for what we have?
