ive tried using the shampoo for oily hair but it doesnt help much because it dries out the bottom ends of my hair... its only the roots that appear greasy and they dont even feel greasy...

it can be build up. you can try mixing a little bit of baking soda with your shampoo in your hand. condintion good afterwards because it will be dry. my best bet would be that you also have oily hair. try a shampoo for oily hair and or try no creme conditioners. if you feel you need one try a leave in. you will see a difference. sometimes if you use wrong shampoo or too heavy conditioner your hair will oil up quicker.

If you have to shower at night make sure your hair is completely dry before you go to bed. Also it would be a good idea if you straightened it before you went to bed also. Then when you get up in the morning it will still be straight and you'll just need to brush it and maybe add a bit of mousse to add volume. If I have to work at 0500 in the morning I usually shower at night and this is what I do. If you go to bed with wet hair then your hair does look dirty and gross. Make sure you are drying it before you go to bed.

get a handful of baking soda- yes the kind in the kitchen. Wet your hair and rub the baking soda throughout. this will get rid of the product buildup if there is any, it is also good exfoliant for your face, makes it real smooth.
