Because it is easier to kill someone to take what he owns instead of trying to convince him by talking. People always wanted the easy way. The politicians want the easy way, that's why they became politicians. This is what is happening and unfortunately people become fanatics by supporting one idiot or another. Wake up people everyone of them is just trying to add more money to his pocket and instead of stoping them we are arguing who is the less worst!

Because warfare is the only constant state when you look at mankind.
Throughout history, much of it is war, hardly any peace. My question is, why do people see war as a bad thing?

Flip it around, once you realise that virtually EVERY single piece of technology; electronic, medical, engineering, construction has been influenced or directly created due to a percieved military need.
Take the microwave oven, created by accident by a bloke trying to make Radar. Computers, radios, television have all at some point had a percieved military need.
Take improvements in healthcare, it's no secret that cures for diseases are given to the military first. Microwave meals, based on army ration packs, gunpowder, explosives, cars, trucks.

The world would be a much different and backwards place if we hadn't been living in a constant state of warfare. People say that war will bring about the destruction of humanity. I believe that peace will bring about the stagnation and eventual destruction of humanity. So instead of going out with a mushroom shaped bang, we go out with a whimper.

Its simple.. Stealing from someone else is always easier...

How much easier is it to mug someone as compared to working a whole day to earn your living??

What applies for a single individual, applies to a whole nation.. and humanity.. only we don't know of any alien species to rob yet..

There is poverty, and need for resources in every country. There are always things that make the people of a nation dissatisfied. So instead of making economic reforms, and better trade co-operation policies, and working toward developing a more healthy environment, what we do is wage war on weeker countries, and try to gain control over the resource you think you need...

All of the wars in the gulf are an example of this... The people think there is need for more oil resources.. they don't want to pay a cent more than what they paid yesterday, in a world of fast depleting petroleum deposits.. The result is that the government feels the pressure to make war on another country and control its petroleum...

Sometimes it is just stupid pride.. the one quality for which humanity has suffered through out.. Look at India and pakistan... They have been fighting over a piece of frozen land, that no body can live in.. They say it is an important strategic defence post, and can not be given up, but where is the need of a "strategic defence post" on the border of two friendly countries??? No.. they have to fight over it, waste the hard earnt money of millions for it, and lose the lives of thousands too...

Why?? Because it is easier to continue fighting.. it doesn't hurt the pride of anyone.. It doesn't need the effort on anyone's side to sit down and work something out that is mutually beneficial...

Because in the end, using force is always easier in the short run.. using the mind, though easier for the long run, is very difficult to begin with..

And especially with the way the governments run now, no one wants to work for long term benefits.. why should they??? Short term benefits will be noticed by people, and will make sure that they will remain in power for longer.. But to invest in long term policies means that they may not be there in power long enough to benefit from it.. Infact when it is finally time to reap the benefits, their political enemies might be the one who may profit...

Because theft of another countries assets is sometimes the best way to satisfy demand at home, eg oil from Iraq, if you control the oli you control the price which is a form of theft.

Historically Britain pioneered the concept, liberating tin and rubber from Malaya, tea from Ceylon, silk from China, labour from Africa. Our beneficial colonial past was really just theft on a gigantic scale.

First we conquered them so bravely with muskets and canons against machettes and spears, then we colonised them and robbed them mercilessly.

I dispute the question. Currently far less than 1% of the world's population is involved in armed conflict.

Ergo, living in peace is easier.

Because in reality, we live in a world with limited resources, and as a result, whether we know it or not, we are constantly competing with one another for control or possession of those resources because there's just not enough to share and to not have the things that other people have would hinder our survival or have a substantial effect on our standard of living. Long story short, because we have unlimited needs or desires, but limited resources.

Your choice of words in the question says it all to me. 'Man' will always find an excuse to fight - it's the testosterone. Whereas women would sit down in a civilised way, with a nice cup of tea and a selection of cakes, and sort it all out - if there was anything to sort out in the first place! If it was all left to women, I can guarantee you that there wouldn't be any hungry, frightened children in the world.

Because no one wants to be called a sissy.
Seriously though, wars not cool. Its an excuse to get oil much more cheaply and americans have a natural lust to reduce poor defenceless coutnries to the ground.
