Is it against federal or state law to send cash through a third party shipper other than the USPS? I know it is stupid, but is it legal?

its legal....but risky.....if its lost in mail you have no cover or recourse......

Yes it is. If you send over $10,000 you must declare the cash to the shipper and the government as this has an effect on the local economy. Failure to declare may result in prosecution. Ignorance is not a defence against the law incase you were wondering also.

I would not recommend sending cash through shipping companies. The chances of the cash making it to the destination are low.

It's not illegal to send cash through Fedex, but it does violate their terms and conditions and invalidates any insurance you may have purchased. If the package is lost you have no recourse. Fedex can not keep the money, but they can refuse to deliver the parcel and return it to you.

Cash can be sent through Fedex as long as you pay the handling fees.

Never ever send cash in the mail. You will lose it. Check in their website to see if it is legal.

Fed-ex and many others will usually not allow you to send cash. Western union is a better option.

Yes as long as you pay the s&h.. But depends really on the amount your talking about. If your saying $500. Then yes. Now if it's $5,000,000 . Then no. The IRS and DEA and the other alphabit soup offices would love for you to send that amount.

there is a limit on the cash that can be legally taken (send) out of the continental USA but legal
