It's said that you're supposed to brush them 3 times a day after each meal. Realistically, I don't think that's possible for most people due to committments.
I brush mine twice a day. Before I go to bed, and before I leave in the morning, which usually means on an empty stomach. I usually brush for two-three minutes... (I concentrate on all of them, then the backs, then the sides, then my tongue, then the front lot. Just for technique and useless trivia!)
Good luck!

you should brush no more than 2 minutes each time you brush, if you brush longer than 2 minutes you will wear off the enamel on your teeth which is what keeps them strong.
It is recommended that you brush at least 3 times a day and floss 2 times a day as well. Usually in the afternoon and evening is a good time to floss or after breakfast.
But NO more than 2 minutes and at LEAST 3 times a day and floss at LEAST 2 times a day.

hi. I brush thrice an afternoon ( after each meal ). and that i floss in the morning and night. Flossing is extra significant, by way of fact brushing can not get all of the stuff way up on the gum line, that gets caught between your tooth. So whether you sweep your tooth 10 cases an afternoon, you ought to nonetheless strengthen issues. Flossing on a daily basis is a ought to.

Plaque takes 24 hours to harden, so you should do it once a day at the same time every day. Twice is ok, three times a day you can run into gum problems. Once a day is fine if you are thorough.
