It is starting to get really hot here & my kitty is all black & is about to experiance her first summer. Poor little thing is so hot & I would just like some suggestions on how I might cool her down without making her cranky!! No cruel answers please, this is a serious question hey.

1) Wipe her down with a wet face cloth every now and then, paying special attention to her ears, paws and face.
2) Give her a quick dip in the bath tub if it gets toooo hot or if she starts panting (trying to "sweat through her tongue).
3) Keep her in the bathroom where she can lie down on the cool tiles or lino.

Hi there...some of the suggestions already made are great. Also to help cool kitty down you can wipe kitty with a cool damp cloth on top of her head as well as under her belly. When they groom themselves this creates a similar effect.

I think you should reword your question...other than that give her plenty of water and provide her with shade or a place out of direct sunlight that is comfy.

Put ice in it's litter box. . .give the kitten a tiny breeze with a small fan or something

you could put a small fan on the floor, or make sure there is wind blowing in an area it sleeps. i have seen many people put ice in the water dish as well.... good luck... :)
