I have heard this and I have experienced it. I don't excactly know the truth but I had this one guy do that to me and I thought it was gross, I mean at first...I kept telling him but it didnt phase him, he went downtown and stayed there. I do admit it was an experience I won't forget. But when I tried to break up with him a while later oh my god he was not leaving. He came up to my job (and I work night shift) and he started crying. Crying! I've never known a dude to cry over a girl. It was a huge turn off. He couldn't let me go. Trust me, it's not all what its cracked up to be, to have someone want you all the time. At least not if you don't want them so be careful what you wish for!

I see that mostly women are answering this question... no offense to the guys.
I'll let you in on a secret... since I'm writing a book about guys, and what and why they do what they do.
To put it bluntly, your guy is trying to live up to a status mark for guys. He's probably just trying to show off to his friends by earning his "Red Wings".
The whole myth of red wings is for a guy to go down on a woman while she has her period, pull the tampon out by the string with his teeth, then to give her oral sex. Typically you are supposed to shake your head from side to side, which causes blood to smear on the woman's inner thighs. When this happens it transfers blood onto the guys face in a pattern that looks like wings.
I know this sounds really stupid, but hey... we're guys. That hooked for life thing.... well, thats probably just a line he's giving you so that you let him do it. When it all comes down to it, just do what you feel comfortable with.

if he stuffs his mouth in your bleeding vagina he will also put all his bacterias from mouth into there. and u might be sorry after - there re like 10 times more bacterias in a mouth than on genitalias. the most common will be candida. at least ask him to brash his teeth and use after rinse. and about your menastrual blood - u might just put a few drops of it into his tea or coffee. YES IT WORKS, but the problem is - what if afterwards u don't want him anymore? i did it to my first husband cos i was young and stupid, when i bacem mature and smart i wanted out of relationships, he nearly killed me when he realised the relationships were over. was stalking me long time after and even threatened to beat my new man. so think twice before u do smth for life - life changes

If I got you correct, I would rather not to get oral while you are period. It's nasty, and smells bad, yacky!!

if a guy really loves you and wants you in his life forever...he doesnt have to oral sex you during your period...oral sex or no oral sex..he will be there for the rest of your life..

That is a new one on me. My ex and I had great sex during my period. I am especially sensitive then. He never went down on me during my period. You may find a man who would enjoy it. I am positive that there is nothing magical about it.
