Banana IS a carb. It is a fast burning carb which means that it will give you a quick burst of energy. Then there are slow burning carbs such as potatos and pasta which give you a long sustained amount of steady energy. Never eat slow burning carbs just before a workout. Always wait an hour after eating them. Fast burning carbs can be eaten before a workout or during. It is also good to eat a piece of fruit after a workout to keep you from getting drained, and to keep you energized until you can get to some much needed protein.

Carbs before (like pastas if its like 2 hours before and like bananas if its like 30 - 45 minutes before) because you'll be needing energy during exercises, and Protein after workout (like milk or white eggs) because you need to heal yourself so muscles can grow or get stronger, !
Bananas also gives you sugar as all fruits, that's energy for your exercise!.
But its a good thing to eat carbs after work too.... but you better concentrate in the protein after workout!

eating bananaor carbs, wether before excercise or after excercise wont harm. but if do want to make a choice then it before excercise. it does not make sense eating after exercise to get energy u need enough energy before exercise.after exercise u may have a rest.
it is better to eat carbs an hour or 1/2 before exercise.

it's better to use the carbs for energy rather than add energy after exercising.
