Just a question to see what works for most. When something depressing happens or tragic. Like a lovers quarrel, or a break-up, what do you do to get over it? Do you find it harder to turn the page and why? Or Do you dwell for a while, and then get over it? Curious?

I think it's important to accept whatever happened, grieve while you need to, and then turn the page. Just let things happen naturally. When it's naturally time to move on and you want to continue dwelling, that's when you create unnecessary stress for yourself. Most important: ACCEPT, make peace with it, then MOVE ON.

I turn the page. I learned after my first relationship in elementary school that the whole breaking up and getting back together thing is useless and futile.

If someone ever hit me or became physically aggressive, they're gone, no questions asked, no explanation necessary.

It's a personal thing and depends on the situation. If you see fighting with a significant other as tragic, then you might dwell on it. If your mother died, you'd definitely dwell on it. It depends on your personal priorities and self-esteem.

The way I see it, if one person in the relationship has come to the point where they can see no happiness or future, it's useless to want that person back. But some people do go to great lengths to reconcile or prevent divorce.

I wish i was a 'turn the page' type person. Unfortunately for me I'm more of a dweller...

I find that I go over and over things and the only thing that makes me stop is simply the passing of time. For the first few weeks i'll obsess, then i'll start to think about it less and less as new thoughts and emotions start to move in and take up space.

I guess that's just the natural order of things for me.

Dwelling just makes you fall into a deeper state of depression. Personally, I believe that you should kick "Destiny" in the head, and keep on moving forward. There are no bad experiences in life. No one is worth crying for, and the one that is, will never make you cry. Besides, there is always more fish in the sea.

I dwell.

I DJayed hundreds of weddings. The couples that never broke up and got back together over and over, are the ones that are still married and happy.

If you break up 1x, that's it. It wasn't meant to be.
