I need thick curtains that can still have a formal look in certain rooms of my house. I don't like alot of sun. Especially when I'm trying to cut back on my electric bill.

Goto JCPENNY.com or check out ebay.

Blackout curtains are very expensive, they start at $25 a panel for a smallish window. I should know, I just bought some at JC Penney.

However, here's a trick. Buy a furniture pad at the Uhaul store for $6.95.
Hang up blinds (so the furniture pad won't be seen from outside), then hang up the furniture pad.
Then hang up your lined draperies so the furniture pad won't be seen from the inside.

If done correctly, your room will feel like night time-all the time. It will also insulate the windows.

Family Dollar, believe it or not. It's like $12 a panel, and they have valances, too. Plus they've got a good selection.
