Sometimes when I talk to my girlfriend at night she will say things that do not relate at all to what we are talking about. There will be a pause in the converation then she will say something like "that is a big house" (example) but we weren't even talking about a house at all they way she talk sounds how someone would sound when there talking in there sleep but shes awake. and when I ask her about it she doesn't understand why she said it but she does remember saying it. I tell her I'm worried there may be something wrong but she says its just because she's tired. She is usually lying in bed when this happens, is it possible she may have a problem with her brain or is she just tired?

Don't have lengthy conversations in bed... do this instead in the daytime... see if it happens when she isn't sleepy. It could be also that you just talk way too much. Sorry.
Is she maybe much older than you? No? ... definitely,.... please don't talk too much when in bed with her... she is too nice to tell you to stop talking... so she says Yes and Amen instead... but sometimes she gives it away that she ain't listening anymore by saying something that doesn't make sense. For now... look also at yourself, but continue to observe her..... ok?

It sure sounds like there is something neurologically wrong. Even when tired it is highly unusual for someone to drift off and talk about something so off of the subject. Get her to a doc!!

I'm going to guess she's tired. Maybe she is trying to change the topic to something light because she's too tired to think, but doesn't want to hurt your feelings by just rolling over and zonking out.

Could be any of the above. I know if I'm lying down I don't think straight either. Also she could be distracted by other stuff. Maybe she's actually online, maybe she's chatting with someone else.

Try calling her earlier when she's upright.

ahhh, man. Let's be honest here: are you sure she is paying attention to you? Are these long conversations? Maybe she is dulled out of her senses. Otherwise, let her go to bed and talk in the morning.

There are other possibilities as well...I'm not going to go into them though.

It means she has an active mind and it tends at times to wander. If you love her don't worry about it.

She is not having a problem with her brain, but you might be (having a problem with her brain).
