I believe they all speak American English as do the Austrians, Germans, Swiss, Swedes, etc., It is part of their educational system to speak the Universal language which is American English. It was a requirement in Russia as well. But I dont know if they speak it to each other, unless they are speaking British English for they are close to England and yet they might have adopted the American language to get rid of the snoops trying to get in on their conversations?

Well your sister is not completely wrong and yet you are not completely right. His Majesty will still with a very deep accent, will speak to Queen Sophia in French. The occasional chats will be held in Spanish, and only on formal occasions will they speak together for lengthy amounts of time.

Yes, your sister is right, our King (I'm Spanish), was born in exile in Portugal, and our Queen is Greek, and although both of them speak perfectly Spanish, they use to speak (between them) in English.
And, King Juan Carlos also speak French...
