I would like to reside in China with my future wife whom is a citizen of PRC. I need to know what type of visa I can obtain to reside, and how to obtain this type of visa. I tried searching the Chinese, American Embassy, but not enough information. If anyone has any details that would be great! Also im trying to find more info on how to obtain the Chinese D-visa. From what I read so far about the D-visa that it is a visa to allow people to reside in China, but it does not give enough info on how to obtain that. Thanks!

If you want to stay there get Permanent Residence Visa.

i am living here in south china e mail me can give you many ideas and contacts to get one 1 year visa >>>>>> if you married here in china go to the security police( township)(city) get registered there they will give you a pink piece of paper with that along with your wife got o the national police barracks security bureau apply there for an extension of your visa (bring marriage papers) normallly will give you 6 months but 1yr is 400rmb realistic to get as i said email me more in dept info>>>> having your email address available for someone to reply to u would be very helpful

It will have to be arranged through your wife unless you get a job in China, in which case your employer can arrange your residency.
Your wife can contact the local PSB to find out what she needs to do, but she will probably need to have connections.
