I was turning left on a 4 lane street, while the light was red the left lane arrow was green but the jeep in front of me was going so slow it was yellow when i went through and by the time i made it on the side street it was red and got my picture taken and so did the jeep in front of me. What can I do about this? I plan on taking it to court and hoping that the DA will dismiss the charges, since we only have one red light camera in our town and there have been mishappenings in the past.

Don't waste your time fighting it. You're on camera too & that makes it worse when fought. Most red light cameras take a picture of your license plate front & back as well as you in the driver's seat & anyone else in the car with you will show too.

Since the light was yellow as you were about to make the turn, you should have waited on the traffic on the other side. What if someone had jumped the light? There would've been an accident & you would be at fault for not stopping at the caution/yellow light.

Fighting this ticket will waste your time, tax dollars & an attorney's time & not to mention money. It's not easy to prove that these cameras malfunction or have mishappenings, as you state. Unless you & the DA can prove that the camera is faulty 90% or higher on the photos taken, you'll lose the case. Pay the ticket & be more careful when you drive.

Hate to tell you this but even if you take this matter to court you will not win. The same thing happened to my husband, he took it to court and the judge didn't give a damn about his story. Most likely the judge is going to tell you that you ran the light and they have picture(s) to prove it. If you take this to court it will cost you alot more than what you have to paid. Court fee cost around $50 or so...You may want to take this in consideration and just pay for the darn thing. Afterall, you can't prove to the DA the red light camera have been mishapppening right?

You can do nothing, they got you coming and going. If you stop dead in your tracks, then you're obstructing traffic., and if run the light, you get nailed for that. I had a similar situation happen to me and it cost me $135 to pay the ticket. If I had gone to court and pleaded my case and lost, whicj I'm sure that I would have, then I would have to pay additional court costs. Isn't the judicial system wonderful?

It doesn't take pics unless the light is red. If you were still in the intersection when the light changed to red, you might have a problem. You wouldn't see the light change if you were under it.

It is not illegal to enter an intersection on a yellow light. Fight it, you have the photo proof.
