I suffer from headaches often, and use BC Powders. It really is fast acting, and I think it has something to do with the caffeine. I can't and wont' say they are safe, but for me they are effective, and that's all I care about when I have them.
I've switched recently to ALEVE, which does take some time to work, about an hour, but it's pretty effective. Good luck...I also agree with the response about drinking lots of water,, as headaches are a sign of dehydration.

I haven't taken anything for headaches for years. Before you take something, it's best to address the root cause of the headache. Sometimes it's dehydration (just drink a glass of water), and sometimes it's bad posture or sleeping with a pillow that is either too high or doesn't give enough support. If you listen to your body and treat it well, you will probably have much fewer occasions on which you will need to medicate it.
Hope this was useful.

Advil for minor headaches.
Extra Strength Excedrin for major headaches and it contains a little caffeine as well to give you a little pep during the day. It works great, just don't take it after dinner because it'll be difficult for you to get to sleep.

basically aspirin is aspirin. the cheaper ones are made with potato starch which does not dissolve as quick as corn starch that the name brands use. corn starch costs more that potato starch.
remember, the brand names advertise and that raises the price dramatically.
last time i bought aspirin, i got a bottle of 1000 tablets for $9.95 or a penny each. compare that with Bayer.

Depends on how bad they are. Excedrin for severe ones, and I prefer Ibuprofen/Motrin for regular ones. It seems to work faster for me than Tylenol, but to each his own! Whatever works best for you!
