Ouch. That bites. I guess just give the space she asked for, then tell her, no pressure of course, that whenever she's ready you'll be there. If she doesn't get back to you to the point that you can't wait anymore, then you just have to talk to her and ask for where you stand or for closure. Good luck, things will get better.

From your question, I suspect that you're a teenager. During that period of life, everything takes on a lot more significance than is actually the case. She is probably telling you the truth in terms of a break. While she may continue to care for you, your interaction may have become too intense for her and she needed to get some space and time.
A personal example -- When I was seeing my future wife in high school, we were starting to get way too intense toward each other. Our parents noticed this and suggested that we tune down the dating and such for awhile. About that time, I was headed to college so we both kept in touch but started seeing other people for a while. The interim period helped in keeping our minds clear and allowing us to assess how we'd be for each other. Next year we're going to be celebrating our 30th anniversary so I think we did something right.

She may just be afraid of the speed the relationship was progressing or how serious it was getting, if you give her space she may come back to you.
Or telling you she wants a break is just an easy way of letting you down and avoiding the confrontation. <- that is a dirty thing to do girls!

She probably needs some time to think about things that are going on in her life (probably not just you). I know that this time can be really hard on a person, but rest assured that if it's meant to be it will be and if it's not you'll soon know why.

Just think- if she allows you back into her life, you can probably look forward to yet another break. And eventually another. And another. I'm sure she'll be in your arms within 10 days.
