My oldest daughter used to sleepwalk and one evening I found her sitting on the kitchen garbage can about to take a pee. Up until that moment I didn't realize she was a sleepwalker but when I asked her what she was doing she stared right through me and announced she was going to the bathroom. She was obviously disoriented, so I gently took her by the arm and took her to the washroom and sat her on the toilet. Afterwards she went back to her room by herself and went to sleep. We found out later when redecorating that she had urinated in the far corner of her room a few times. Her carpet was a dark shag,(this was in the late 70s)so there was no visible stain and there was no smell. However after the kitchen episode I kept a careful watch(luckily I'm a light sleeper) because it worried me that she might actually leave the house. If I discovered her about to pee someplace weird, I would again just take her arm and lead her to the washroom. You might want to try listening for him to get up and do what I did. You don't have to wake him up, just take his arm while speaking to him quietly and direct him to the right room. Of course you can't do that forever, but my daughter eventually stopped sleepwalking or at least was programmed to go directly to the washroom. You might even try leaving a light on all night in the washroom for a while, in the hope that he would head straight for the light. My daughter also had no recollection of what she was doing, so your husband's definitely not lying when he says he doesn't remember. You're not getting any sleep anyway so what have you got to lose. That's pretty hilarious about the dog's bowl.

My nephew did that, when he was younger. First off, dont' clean it, inform your hubby and have him tend to the issue. He's not doing it on purpose and isnt' reasonably aware of his actions. Try to either redirect him, or wake him up, though it might startle him. If there's a certain place that he "uses" frequently, try putting those depends down to absorb the mess. Heck, it's an odd thing, but I've actually heard of people doing it, drunk or sober. Since you aren't wanting to divorce him, lol.. seems, all you can do is deal with it.. Have you thought of tile, or non carpeted flooring?

A lot of my relatives have done odd things while sleepwalking & If a loved one is out of the house - like when my bro left for the army..I found myself asleep in his bed about four times a week for 6 months - when my hubby goes on a business trip I find myself in his computer chair when I wake up!! Your hubby really can't help it but I would make him clean his own pee

I don't have a solution for you, but I do have a story. When my brother was about 10, we were visiting our grandparents out of town. My mom and dad were sleeping on the sleeper sofa while my brother was on a palate on the floor,(I was at a cousins house). They said later in the night after everyone had gone to bed my dad noticed my brother at the kitchen sink. He said he turned around and came to my dads side of the bed and all of a sudden he was soaked. My dad started cussing and jump out of bed to find my brother with an empty glass in his hand. The only thing they could think of, was he had gotten a drink of water and thought he was pouring the rest out in the sink. Needless to say, I got a very good laugh out of it.

Petsmart offers potty training classes... LOL Just kidding. Maybe there is something psychiatric there (stress?). My daughter did things like that when she was about four, but the doctor said it was just stress and if she didn't "grow" out of it within a few weeks, then we should take her to a psychiatrist. Anyway, she did eventually stop doing it though. Wish I could help more. :-(

Is he taking any sleep medication, i.e., ambien? It has been documented that this drug can cause you to sleep walk and not remember what you did. People have reported getting up and eating, even cooking a meal, and not remember. Regardless, this type of sleeping disorder requires medical attention.

I think that your husband is very stressed. Get him to see a doctor. I know of a case just like this and the man was very stressed.

Edit ...You are not a nut and neither is your husband .I think you would be surprised to know thst this is not that uncommon, its just not going to be something people talk about.
