I have a spinal problems and it is hard for me to do anything I just started going to water exercise classes and the people are very nice, but in the day I am very lonely and i miss work and i talk on the phone but most people i know work and are tired and our conversation are slowly but surely becoming different. I know I need to find something to do but even writting this is hard and my arms will be so sore later for this. I still like to read what is going on here. So what are some of the things you would do if you were me?

You know, I think that some pet would be a companion for you, and my suggestion would be a bird. You can get delightful parakeets that aren't expensive...and neither are their cages or their food. You would not have to walk it...or change it's litter box! Think about it! They can even learn to talk! Seriously, think about it! Best of luck...and keep up the exercise!

I would try audio books- my mom was blind & they were a great source of entertainment for her. She also taught me not to "stew in my own juices" & just get out & do things you can do and not worry about the things you can't do. I also like yarn - knitting is very soothing for me. Buy a Knifty Knitter- i never knew how to knit till I bought this knitting invention- you can buy them online too. www.provocraft.com Good Luck- Joanie

I know how you feel. I had rotor cuff re-attachment surgery and can't drive or use my left arm. Lucky mine is temporary.
