I know he cares but it would be nice if he did sweet things like pick me up after i've had a horrible day at work or take me out somewhere....he dosent even has to spend money on me, he could take me to a park and spend some time with me.

Tell him that you just want him to surprise you. Just let him know that it's those cheesy little details that make you remember how much you adore him. Mention something he has done that you thought was sweet off hand and then tell him how much that made you fall for him more. Preen his ego basically.
