I was driving on the highway going about 115 and then slowed down to like 75. Then a few minutes later a Conn State Trooper was behind me fallowing closely and fallowed me off an exit and then got back on the highway but never pulled me over. Could he of taken my plate number down and they bill me later or do they have to pull you over if your going that fast?

I'm not sure about your state, but in the state of Florida, the police officer, must not only get you on radar, but also VISUALLY estimate/verify your speed, at the same time. Probably had his head down, or just did'nt get a good look, when the radar got you. Then he went after you, hopin you kept the speed up.
And, I know its a PITA, with us old farts throwin all this " The dangers of speeding" nonsense at you, but if we're wrong, and your right, but don't speed, you'll end up living your life having missed a few cheap thrills. If we're right, well, . . . .there's no goin back . . . .Kapesh?!?!

I have seen this type of thing several times. When calls come into the police dispatch they send a police officer out. We get calls for reckless drivers all the time. If someone called your vehicle in as driving reckless and 115 mph would be reckless, then the dispatcher will send on officer to look for you. By the time the officer got there you had already slowed down and were no longer speeding or driving reckless. So the officer probably followed you for a while to let his presence be know, to check your plates, and to see if you did anything else foolish.

Calls about vehicles driving reckless is enough to send the police, but not enough for us to pull you over. The officer wuold have had to see you driving recklesly and not take the word of a caller.

why on earth would you drive 115 on a highway. Your lucky you weren't pulled over but WAY more lucky you didn't kill someone. If he did get you on radar you could have landed yourself in jail. If you go over 20 mph over the speed limit that is grounds for being arrested. Think again before you drive that fast. How would you feel the rest of your life if you killed someone. Obey the law and you don't have to worry about tickets or killing someone. And.. if you did get into a wreck it would be your fault for speeding. 115? That is insane!

It sounds like you got lucky. I'd have to agree with a previous answer and once he caught up he was looking for a reason to pull you over since you had slowed up. Probably no photo radar though.

He probably thought he had you on RADAR but when he got up close he had doubts, so he didn't stop you. He just followed you a bit and couldn't find another reason to sto you.
