Watts To Horsepower Converter

KVA is the complex value of the power ( real + imaginary ) due to capacitive + inductive + resistance of the load so from all the driven power ( KVA ) some of the power stored in these components of the load , and only the real is the power , the consumed power ( useful ) equals to the KVA multiplied by the load power factor , so in big electrical installation ( like factory )the power engineers adds some inductive loads to increase the power factor so increasing the system efficiency .
- normally power factor < 1
but to convert from watts to hourse power
use the following formula
1 HP = 764 watts
consequently if we consider ideal system ( power factor =1 ) then
320 KVA = 320 KW = (320 * 1000)/764 HP ~ 418.8482 HP

It is straight forward to convert kW to HP
1HP = 0.7456999 kW
1kW = 1.341022 HP

but the conversion between kVA and kW depends on the
power factor (if you dont know it you can use 0.85)
ALWAYS kVA>kW
