NCAA football has the BCS poll, and boxing has The Ring magazine rankings. Could something similar be developed for MMA? Or does the fact that different promotions have different rules preclude that? Would promoters welcome such a system?

MMA news has rankings....sort of like the usatoday rankings for highschool sports as well as college football, baseball and basketball...the pound 4 pound rankings are a nice touch!!

I would think CroCop would be in the top 2 pound for pound after winning the grand prix

I think they should have rankings to determine who gets a shot at the title. That way guys that have been winning don't get bumped by someone who's basically a tune up fight

the sport is so brute and may not be acceptable to many, that is why every promotions should promote or exaggerate the skills of their fighters. the only way their skills be determined is to give them a match
