I just bought a cerry crate for my one year old male cat. The crate it meant for animals below 10lbs. My cat weights about 8lbs.... He can turn around in the crate but he can't sit up or stand up... is it too small for him? I am only useing it to go one block around the courner to the Vets office. he will be in the crate for no longer than half an hour.

To be a comfortable carry crate, the pet should be able to turn around, stand up and sit up. Otherwise he or she will be very uncomfortable after long periods of time. If your cat is only going to be in the crate for a half an hour, it shouldn't be a problem, but consider a larger crate for longer trips. Outfit it with a blanket that is familiar to the cat and perhaps a favourite snuggle toy to calm his nerves. Putting a blanket over the carrier for long trips will also help calm his nerves. They feel safer in a dark quiet place.

We only moved...drove 4 days from GA to CA and my boy did high quality. you mustn't shop your cat locked up. it somewhat is incorrect. I hate while human beings do this. Cats are extremely sensible and that they understand what to do even while they're under pressure. My boy hasn't led to any issues. He only sniffed around attempting to be sure what develop into taking place. make certain you have a number of your cats convenience toys, scratching submit, and so on around so as that they could see something ordinary. tutor him the place his clutter container is and so on. We got here from an place on base without carpet to an house with all carpet different than the kitchen and bathing room. He hasn't accomplished something undesirable yet. Cat destressing spray, cat nip, and his convenience issues ought to calm him down. He did spend the 1st 2 nights in his crate yet that develop into his selection. it somewhat is as massive as a great canines crate.

The kitty carryng crate is too small IF the cat cannot stand up properly and if the cat cannot turn around at will when he/she is inside of the cage

You cat should be fine, you dont want him to stand up and move around to much, to much room is a cry for a bathroom accident. Remeber not to keep him in there for more than a few hours at a time, they can become afixated very quickly.

The carry crate should be OK for short distances or short trips.

That's perfectly fine for such a short trip. If another crate is in the future for you I would get one where he can sit up.

Really it's safer to be a bit snug. That way he wont fall all around in it while in the car.

generally, if you have to cram him into the crate with your foot, then it is probably too small.

answer this question: does it look comfortable to YOU? if not, invest in another one. he relies on you for his well-being. don't skimp out.

Your baby will be FINE. the only thing I would be concerned about is if he's uncomfortable he may take a dump or piss in it. That will smell lovely in your car.
