Is Maitreya "Messiah"?
I expect Jesus will come in His own name, not in the name of another.

St. Matthew 24: 23 - 27

(Jesus said:) if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers (inner rooms); believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Did Maitreya's return be "as the lightning comes out of the east and shines even unto the west". Where is he now? Is he in the desert? Or is he in some inner room?

The prophets have told that when Christ returns, His feet shall stand in that day on the Mount of Olives and an earthquake will split the Mount of Olives in two. Has that happened yet?

Therefore Maitreya has not shown the credentials!!

This is why I am disinclined to belief in the Biblical God. I have my rationale (concerning the Biblical God, YHWH) If God is truly loving, He will save us all. Humans can't possibly be held against the smallness of their ability. How can we be certain of the divine? or, God will only leave them dead (which biblically is true, there is no rationale behind eternal torment, at least in the original language) If God is going to send some people to hell, for reasons they had no control over, then he is a cruel and egotistical tyrant, and I would gladly go as a martyr for reason and compassion. Perhaps "God" is life, and all of life is God. Perhaps every religious thought, or scientific idea, is merely one pane in a stain glass window, reflecting the same source of light, in a slightly different way.

this is a false prophet ........ read revelations .......it is vague in certain places if you are not familiar with biblical prophecy ........ but it paints a very clear picture of how the true messiah will return ............ this is maitreya is hinduism at its finest ........ it is the only religion that claims to include all other religions in their beliefs.it also claims it is the one true religion. it has no moral compass or guidelines to follow and is basically a feel good religion ....... that's why so many movie stars like it because it tells them not to feel guilty about any of the horrible things they have done ..........

from what I know, Jesus which is currently belived to have been and still is the messiah, never brought world, peace. But then the religious fanatics will say, "well next time he comes it is for reals"

there is one easy way to test whether or not the messiah has come yet. you just look around and ask yourself, "is there world peace?" if the answer is no, then the messiah has not come yet.
