A silencer (suppressor or moderator) is just a muffler for a gun. It works by providing an expansion chamber for the gunpowder gases. Baffles also make for turbulant flow of the gases through the silencer as the bullet passes through the center. This tubulance creates back pressure and further reduces the noise.
Most firearms still make impulse noise greater than 105 decibels even when equipped with a good silencer. Powerful firearms can be loud enough to damage hearing even when equipped with a good silencer.
If you believe that guns have a mind of their own and pull their own triggers, then they might be against god. But if you are sane and rational, then you will know that it is the person who decides to kill, and not the gun in their hand.

I believe the expanding gas expelled from the chamber makes the loud sound, and the silencer just muffles the sound. I read that somewhere, but I'm not sure if that is totally correct.
As for being against God, maybe. I am not an organized religion gal, so I couldn't tell you if it went against a certain religion or not. However, it does give humans an unfair advantage over nature. Yes, it is well known that biologically, we are programmed to be hunters and to survive through violence. However, when you use guns to cause undue harm to others and animals, and even yourself, you are not a human being with a moral side.
Talk to your priest, or a friend who is religious. Maybe they can spread more light on this issue, or refer you to a perfect passage in the Bible for you to ponder.

it makes guns silent so other people will not know that a gun went off. guns are not against god, killing people is against god.

SELF DEFENSE is allowed.
Silenced by muffling the sound in a set of baffles and or absorbents.
