Does anybody notice, and i could be crazy, but all athiests do is boldy state to you there is no god and that heaven doesnt exist, and they'll constantly remind you of stuff like that?
A lot of personal religion topics on this board, the answers are sometimes flooded with people just saying "Well it wont happen cause God isnt real" etc, I'm Lutheran, I have friends who are Athiest and friends of different religions, one thing though, is that I never ever criticize them on their religion or tell them its not real, they do the same with me. I think we should believe in what we want to believe in, and not what people try to influence us to. I know there are Christians who criticize athiests, but in my eye the Athiests seem to do it a lot more, and seem to just hate anybody whos different then them. What do you think?

i think people should seek to find the truth whatever it may be, with an open mind, and debate is a great way to do that.
i also think the criticism (both constructive and destructive) is about even on both sides
these are my thoughts and its possible they are biased.

I can see how you might feel that way. The reason why most atheists point out "but there is no god" is because we've just been told something about god. Atheists don't leave little pamphlets on people's car. They don't build huge buildings all over the map that say "GOD IS FICTIONAL". And we certainly don't say, this is right and this is wrong because my god says so.
So when you hear atheists make comments like "God is fake" and such that offend you, try to think a little harder about what might have prompted it.
Also, in moral and ethical debates, religious people often resort to "My God or my Holy Book says its wrong." We point out that that kind of reasoning does not and cannot apply to everyone, or that it is a bad argument. In other words, you can't use God as a justification for your moral arguments until you demonstrate god exists (at least when you are debating people of no faith or different faiths)
Pudding, If I asked a question that implied that christians were insensitive of others and hypocritical, wouldn't you and your fellow christians give me a thumbs down? Of course you would. If you make offensive and stereotypical comments about groups of people, expect to get thumbs down.

I'm an agnostic. I follow catholic and buddhist tradition, I enjoy christian holidays. I like muslims and my best friend is one. I admire a lot of atheists because they're very smart, and also admire jewish people for all they've been through. I think it's good to understand all of the religions, but I also think it's dangerous to just talk about any of them as if they weren't true. Open mind people, open mind.

I think you're viewing it through biased eyes.
It's been my observation that christians and atheists bash each other about the same, using the same standard defenses against each other -- Christians say atheists need faith, atheists say Christians need an education. Occasionally the muslims pop up and demand both convert or be blown up, or at least spammed a bit.
The Buddhists and Pagans are content, it seems, to sit back and ignore the ongoing war.

Atheism isn't a religion, it's merely not believing in god(s). Some insist there is no god, others of us simply don't believe in any and accept that neither the existence nor non-existence of god(s) can be proven - and really don't care.
Secondly, I (I don't speak for all atheists) really don't give a damn what you believe as long as you do not try to force it on me or my kids - like institutionalized prayer in public schools, a state religion, requiring oaths to god to swear in for court or for public office or praying required to be on a sports team or to join the service. It's that simple.

relies upon on how "dedicate" they're. in the event that they're so "dedicated" that they by way of technological know-how to the winds, call different human beings damned and sense it rather is they're project to transform the worldwide with biased christian web content with defective techniques, then i truthfully dont like them. in the event that they're dedicated purely on the internal maximum point and leave it at that, as in they comprehend and settle for technological know-how additionally because of the fact they comprehend technological know-how and faith do no longer contradict one yet another because of the fact they comprehend a narrative whilst they pay attention it. genesis as an occasion became an attempt by ability of historical human beings to describe how the worldwide began because of the fact they didnt understand. truthfully there are 2 varieties of religious human beings, followers and moderates. the moderates are those that i'm great with.

I'm an atheist but I strongly believe in people making this personal decision for themselves....and I respect their decision whatever it is...Christians, Jews, Muslims, Mormons, etc.
So please don't paint all atheists with the same brush.
Just a note....atheists don't have a religion.
