How do you tie your hair using ONLY ONE chopstick?

Question

I saw a girl that ties her hair up instantly with only one pen/pencil, or her special chopstick a few times. She has half the hair down still and the other half like a bun with the pen/pencil or chopstick holding it in place. I want to do that too! Anyone know?

Thanks for the replies! I have pretty think hair, but it's layered so the bun falls apart after It's loosened from the pencil 'weaving' through. I'll keep trying, any more tips?

Hey, I'm a stylist. It's all in the way you twist the hair...and insert the pencil or whatever.....

You can grab the hair at the nape of the back of your head....any where really.....midway up your head...... or on top of your head........ grab your hair as if you were going to put it in a ponytail, twist it, and go to coil it into a regular bun. After it's in a regular bun.only secured by your hand holding it to your head...take the pencil.pen.chopstick.......and don't just shove it through the bun.you have to stick the tip of it on the hair that is right next to the bun (the hair that is flattened against your head because it got twisted into the bun....) stick the tip of whatever you're using in and come back out ( just grab a little of the hair not in the bun ) then shove it through the bun....then through a few strands of hair on the other side of the bun ...
If you just shove it through the bun it'll flip, and fall all down.you have to slide your chopstick through the hair about an inch to the right side of the bun...then the twisted bun..then through a chunk of hair on the other side of the bun to secure the bun to the head
Also....you can grab your hair at the back of the head like starting a ponytail...twist the tail once and throw it to the right and flip all swinging hair up and lay it against your head....hold to the head with right hand........then with left hand grab a bit of hair still laying flat to your head and pull it over the wad of hair laying straight up your head.it'll look like a french twist effect..stick the sharp object to the edge of the right side of the lump you'll see.and push it through the twist as you go being sure as you do push it through that you are deep into the lump of hair enough to feel it slide along your back of your head.....or it will fall when you let go of the pile of hair on your head. This one will cover all the loose layers flipping out and form a sort of covering... like a net ....over the loose hair so I would do it this way.....if it was me....
I've had super long naturally curly hair ...and stuck it up in 10 seconds or so and secured it in a bun or a "fake french twist" with a plastic fork.......a firm coffee stirrer....whatever was availiable .if you need help call me at Agape' Hair Design in Milford, Ohio at [phone] and ask for Rene'........I cut all my hair off..but I used to always throw mine up like that.......
YOU DO NOT NEED THICK HAIR AT ALL IF YOU DO IT RIGHT.....
Also...stick straight hair works just as well.curly doesn't matter......

I can do it although I'm not sure i can explain it. First you wrap your hair into a sort of tight bun (it will become loose) then you stick the chopstick through it and turn the chopstick around and put it back through the other way. It pulls a little bit but if it pulls way too hard then try again.

I'm sorry but it's really hard to explain. I hope you can get the hang of it by the way I explained it. Practice a few times you will get it eventually!

Girl I work with does that with a pencil. She just twists it into a pony tail and hooks the pencil through the bun, catching the hair underneath. She has curly hair, I think that's the trick, because mine would fall down in about 2 seconds.

I do this all the time with a pencil and my hair is very thin.

Try the bun thing but then weave it left then right. After that push the pencil up and down in the other direction.

you pull your hair back like your going to put it in a ponytail then you twist it tight and roll it up on the back of your head in a bun then you put the chopstick in the back to hold it

i do it all the time. Put your hair in a bun and just stick the pen or chopstick straight through the bun while holding it in place. It should stay there.

My friend does that all the time with pencils..its so amazing at how fast they can do that.

I have extremely short hair..shorter than hubbies so sorry I couldn't help but its really sexy on a girl so for it.

You have to get your hair pulled tight and then slip the pencil/pen whatever in your hair. It helps if your hair is kinda thick too.

Make a bun or a ponytail, and stick them in there, one on each side. Or you can put two on both sides.
