Why is October 13th so bad? What happened on October 13 to make this date so bad?

Its not just October 13...its all Friday the 13ths. There is actually a history to all of this, contrary to popular belief. Throughout history, there have been many events that have been labeled 'Black Fridays'. The original, and most famous of all of these Fridays, are when a group (I'm talking hundreds) of Knights Templars were arrested, held captive, and tortured - some even to death - until they admitted to heresy (they were then killed for this 'heresy' that they committed). All in all, it was pretty messed up and ever since then, there has been a fear or superstision of Friday the 13th. Then, to make the fear of this day more ingrained in people's minds, Hollywood had to take the name, put a great murder mystery action flick behind it, and thus that is why there is such a big deal with this date in our current society.

Well, on Friday the 13th, the king of France ordered all the knights Templar to be rounded up and tortured to death on heresy charges, but there's nothing outside Halloween that has any particular creepy superstitions for october, but I'm sure there's something.IMO, I don't buy it. My best luck always happens on Friday the 13th's.It's Saturday the 14th's that make me want to hide under a blanket for the day.

It's not October the 13th...it's Friday the 13th....of any month.

Some people are superstitious, and get all freaky about Friday the 13th. I'm pretty sure that's all.

well here in Far East it is Friday the 13th. and sorry for the dissappointment but evrything is pretty smooth here. and God Willing it will be smooth.
