I would say to err on the side of my own experience, don't. Beans and legumes soak up a lot of moisture in the cooking process.... you would do well to cook them in a fairly large and WIDE pot either in water or fortified broth like chicken stock or vegetable stock.... veal stock is also acceptable and would match well if you are making chili. You will need to soak the beans overnight in water, covered in the refrigerator.... at this point you can either use one of the liquids I listed or use the soaking water that contains the flavor from the beans. Be certain to look for small pebbles as they really don't taste too great! Cook on a medium high simmer and add liquid as needed. Save your seasoning until the end so that the beans do not become tough as the cooking liquid evaporates (or too salty).

Yes, (not deep frying them). It will be kinda hard to clean it though. I guess as hard as frying in it.
