It's going to be the based on what the other person thinks your income is. If you are the father, then the mother of the child can state whatever income she thinks you make and that will be your obligation if you don't contest it. They use formulas to figure out what the weekly amount will be. The only way in my state that you don't have to pay is if BOTH parties agree they do not want child support. But if the mother is the custodial parent and she goes on government assistance, the father is required to pay that amount. Otherwise, you are obligated to pay. And now they are reporting anything owed over 2 months to the 3 credit bureaus. Check you local laws for specifics.

i tryed it that way for 6 months all you do is fight about the money ( my son's father told me what i can and cant do with the money or i wouldnt get anymore) or you never recieve any from the payeer trust me you should go through a child support agentcy or you will have nothing but trouble
