You need to contact your insurance provider to see what is covered under the plan you have now. If your plan is "MediCal" from the State or County then you should have some coverage but the trick might be to find a Dentist that accepts the kind of coverage that you have.

You will have to pay some sort of "Co-Payment" when you visit but that's true with most insurance plans. You can also buy insurance form places like Delta Dental, Smile Care, Aetna and others for as low as $15.00 per month some places. Just go on-line and look up dental insurance plans...It will be alot cheaper than buying regular medical coverage..

Also you might even see if there is a dental school somewhere in your area. The students need to work on real patients and sometime you can get work done for a really good rate or maybe somethings for free. I've heard people say that they've done that before.

Good Luck

hmm......doesn't you medical card cover your dental check ups? I don't know about your financial postion but if you have low income, you should be able to get free medical care. You should contact your county or do some search online.

There is a dental school close by. Maybe you could check with them. It may not cost as much or nothing at all.

if you are on medicaid and your teeth are bad enough they will pull them and get you basic dentures, but they wont repair your teeth or do any cosmetic work.

you could go to a dental sghool. it may not cost you a dime. but then again, you'd be at the mercy of inexperienced dentists.
