This is just a sugestion but it is what i am working on for myself. First find out what your coat of arms is. You can find them for a small fee at several web sites online. Then have floating orbs of multiple collors floating around it. Then inside the orbs have special dates and names put in them. Like your sons full name, and birthday. Put your mother and fathers's names and if they are still alive birth days if not their years lived thru. Put your date of marriage if that is a good day for you. Put your graduation date in one from highschool and or college and put what degree you got. If you served in the military put your mos and dates served between. For what ever branch you served in and for your mos you can put the insignia that marks that branch and or mos. These are all just sugestions hope they helped.

Research it a lot, look at pics on the internet and talk with your artist before you just go in and do it, they may have some ideas for you and will probably draw up a custom design for you if you ask. Think it out and plan it, it will be there for the rest of your life, tattoos are awesome, just make sure it's something unique and original!

you should really look into art paintings and drawings for inspiration... keep in mind that it has to be something you fall in love with and just feels right because tattoos stay with you forever... even the laser thing wont take it off completely.. if i were you i'd get something small simple yet elegant and beautiful

I love the idea! How about this, have them tattoo "TACKY AS HELL" just above your boob. Then get them to tattoo a couple of roses and dolphins and one of those yin-yang symbols around it to fancy it up, and maybe throw in a cross to keep it classy.

You may have to pawn his babycrib or something to afford such a neat tattoo, but hey, nothing says love to a kid like old mom's tattoos!

Also, get the hair on the sides of your hair cut real short, and have someone shave his name on each side.

Real nice.

How about you choose something that has meaning to you? That's what tattoos are all about, personal meaning.
Don't ask people that don't know you, choose a symbol, picture, animal, whatever...something that's close to you, and your beliefs, feelings....whatever. It's all about you, you're going to have that forever.

My God you tattoo people are fascinating animals. Any ideas? Yeah, how about showing some class, skip the tattoo, and just use your brain to show your son that you deserve to love him and be loved by him. Like a tattoo will make a difference. Sheesh!
