He needs to be an equal balance of both the good and the bad. I wouldn't want an criminal or social reject, but I also wouldn't want an uptight guy who has no sense of adventure.
Yes, a man should treat her with respect, but he shouldn't take it as far as putting her on a pedestal. Most women don't want to be worshiped, we want to be treated as equals. Being seen as perfection is hard to live up to, plus it gets a little old when he won't speak his mind and just goes along with whatever we want.
Be confident, and a bit assertive. Don't be a push over or a door mat. But most of all, be yourself. People can see through and acts, all you do is come across as a fake.

it depends on the type of the lady. for me i like both. i like the bad boy wit the saggy pants type and that sweet southern gentleman type. i like cute, smart, funny, sweet, bad boy, ect. those types of guys.
