Lortab's generic name is acetaminophen and hydrocodone (ah see ta MIH no fen and hye dro KOE done). Hydrocodone is a narcotic and there are NO over-the-counter medications that will compare to the narcotics for pain killing. You have to be careful taking acetaminophen (Tylenol) with Lortab as there is a real possiblity of overdosing on the Tylenol. So never take Tylenol with Lortab unless you consult with your doctor first. The following information was taken from www.drugs.com:

"What is acetaminophen and hydrocodone?
• Hydrocodone (related to codeine) is in a class of drugs called narcotic analgesics. It relieves pain.
• Acetaminophen is a less potent pain reliever that increases the effects of hydrocodone.
• Together, acetaminophen and hydrocodone are used to relieve moderate-to-severe pain."

Hope this helps.

Sorry to say anything which does not completely agree with Tash and you should consult her before taking my advice. Ordinary gravol (or it's generic a half hour before a meal may help. If you can't keep it down use the suspository) My doctor was also my best friend and a fellow scoutmaster. Thanks to him plus my Military background I learnt a few tricks. If you can keep it down some times get the capsules. ( Here Canada ) They are Blue and white. When you can't keep it down use a small pin or needle to poke a tiny hole in each end and then use it as a suppository. Saves you carrying multiple products and they are less expensive. JOKE: A man went to the pharmacist claiming the suppositories he was using were useless. Told the pharmacist that for all the good they were doing he may as well have been shoving them up his butt.

No. Loratab, Vicodin, Percocet, that sort of thing has narcotics in them. Ibuprofen can reduce swelling, but when you take the narcotic pain relievers, you can not take Tylenol as they are almost all Tylenol based. So I would have no idea what that would be.

Lortab has a narcotic in it, you can't get narcotics over the counter.
