A 2 year old, OK. A 4 year old, No. Do you have a neighbor or a parent that could watch your kids for an hour while you go to your weekly appointments?

I personally don't see a problem with taking your children to the appointment with you. I have a 2 year old and I wonder what I'll do with her when I get pregnant again and i have to go to the doctor on a regular basis, I have a regular babysitter that she will be with during most of the appointments but I'm sure some time will come along that I will have no choice but to bring her. Perhaps bringing some coloring pages or a favorite book that your girls enjoy might be a welcome distraction while the doctor is doing the internal exam. A nurse or office assistant might be willing to keep an eye on the girls for a bit while you are in the middle of the exam, but most of it (I don't believe) will be a problem. Besides... I'm sure you are not the first mother that had to bring their children with them to an exam! Good Luck, and congratulations and best wishes on a happy, healthy new addition to your family :)

I would say yes and no. Yes if they are well mannered and will sit quietly and not interfere in other's business. And it's great to have them included in everything, especially so close to the end of your pregnancy. Also, I say NO because of being in other's zones...mainly people losing their baby or just grumpy people that don't want to see little kids.
I wouldn't mind it myself. I would just bring stuff to entertain the 2 year old for sure and remind them of their manners, but since you are asking this question, it seems you are already aware of other people, thank you! :)

NO. most Dr's would find your kids a distraction too see if you can get a Saturday appt, or explain your prob to the reception girls and the might be able to help, even if it a late appt, when you hubby's home. My obstetrician had a no children at appts rule, you'll probably find the are all the same. good luck with it all.

I dont see any problem with taking them with you. The only thing that I can see being a problem if your girls are like my son... when ever I went to see the doctor (for what ever ailment I had) my son would actually get upset because he thought I was really ill or was being hurt (if I had to have an injection). I found it easier to go without him only to save him from getting upset over nothing.

I had to take my six year old with me when I just recently gave birth. You can always have them turn around when the doctor is checking you, or you could ask one of the nurses to take them out of the room and watch them for a minute. Most of the time they won't have a problem doing this.

personally i don't think so. find out if there is a place you can drop the girls for a couple hours. there are places in my town that are open and you can just drop them by (it's around the malls so that women can shop and that is how they advertise it.) they are pretty trust worthy and you have to show id and such for drop off and pick up. they won't be there long and it doesn't cost that much either.

Yes it is ok to bring them with you but I don't think it is appropriate for them to see from the doctors view what is going on. Have them stand up by your head for that part but they can participate in the rest of it. Just my opinion as a mom.

I had to do it....my son was nearly 6 but he was good he just sat in a chair at my head so he didn't have to see anything. I guess it depends mostly on their behavior and your comfort level. We can't get all squimish about this stuff it is part of life.... a natural part of life. I am not saying show your child your world but going to a drs. visit is harmless. Take her!
