Sounds like a urinary tract infection, or yeast infection.

Straining, pain or difficulty urinating
Blood in the urine
Foul smelling urine
Urination in inappropriate places
Tender lower abdomen (in the area of the bladder)
Fever
Lethargy

Inflammation of the urinary tract in cats may produce UTI-like symptoms, and is a serious health problem. If your cat exhibits any of the above symptoms, take him to a veterinarian as soon as possible. Male cats can show the above signs when their urinary tract is obstructed. This can be life threatening in a short period of time.

Females have a wider and shorter urethra than males and are affected by UTIs more often. Males can get UTIs though, especially when they are intact (non-neutered). Your veterinarian will test your pet's urine to diagnose a UTI.

I'm not a vet, so I would take her to your local vet first, but I have had 5 cats over the years and it sounds like it is behavioral to me. Do you have any other cats inside OR outside ? Or ANY other animals ? If you don't have any other animals, do you have a new man/person in your life that is sharing your bed ? Another thought......are you gone alot of the time ? It could be most anything. Don't ever punish the cat.....as she is trying to tell you something. Try to think on her level and see if there is anything that has changed around your house. But I would take her to the vet to rule out anything medical first. It's also possible that she could have a urinary infection, or worms. Is she fixed ? That could also be a possiblity. Check them all out and good luck !

Your cat needless to say likes scratching on the rugs. eliminate the rugs, and get a number of those cardboard cat scratchers that sit down on the floor. they many times under 10 money, and can be got here upon at aim or Walmart. My cats love them! placed considered one of those cat scratcher on the floor the place the rug was. whilst the cat starts utilising the scratcher, slowly flow it to the place you like it to at last be. Then placed the rug decrease back. additionally, take a glance at your contemporary scratching submit. Cats like posts that sense impressive, and somewhat some cat posts are too small. attempt procuring or making a huge one so as that the cat can stretch out their finished physique length.

Cats rub their behinds on carpets when they have worms, round or tape and sometimes when their anal glands are getting impacted.

Urinating outside her litterbox would indicate she might have a urinary problem and is having pain urinating and she is associating the pain with the litterbox.

I really feel that cats just know that urinating outside their boxes is a sure way to get your attention. She is telling you she is in distress and needs treatment from her veterinarian.

It sounds like Carly has a urinary tract infection, or tapeworms, or perhaps both. Take her to the vet for some tests. The vet may suggest changing her food to prevent urinary tract infections in the future, and medications can clear the tapeworm and the UT infection in the meantime.

More frequent litter changing can also help keep her urinary tract healthy.

Animals rub their bottoms on carpet to show that they either have to go to the bathroom or that their bottom is itchy or irritated. As for the peeing on on blankets, it's probably a territorial thing. Have you recently gotten another animal? She could be jealous and is just trying to mark her territory. If not, consult a vet.

Hi Mary...generally when cats drag their bums along the floor means their anal sacs (there are two on the anus) are impacted and need to be expressed.

Urinating outside the litterbox can be an indication of a bladder infection:

If it's not medical it may be considered behavioural perhaps because there was a change with the litterbox location, type of litter used, new pet in the home, change in the home in general with people or things, etc.

A vet visit would be best advised for both to be evaluated and treated.

I think either she has a urinary tract infection or she has worms. Most cats do that when they are sick with something like that. My cat just smelled another cat and pissed on a coat of mine. Good Luck

Is she spayed? If not, she's probably in heat;cats do all sorts of crazy things when they're in heat.If she is spayed, then it's probably a urinary tract infection.Either way,I'd take her to the vet to be sure.
