a) Is it to spread hatred and poisonous thought?
Unfortunately lately it sure seems that way
b) Is it made to anger everyone that is not of their believes?
see above
c) Is it a place to release your anger, frustration and jealousy?
see above
d) Is it a place to spread your religion
That would be good if it were done with love and respect.
e) Is it a place to bash other's believes with false stories and twisted facts?
Unfortunately lately it sure seems that way
Or is it a place to expand your knowledge and acquisition of things that you have no idea about?
This would be the ideal. -- Think it could ever get there?

I participate in this section to learn more about the paths others choose to follow and try to remove misconceptions on mine. The only ones I want my faith spread to are the ones who chose to follow the path because it fills their needs. I wish to spread information, even though I know my experiences and choices will upset some.
It is a waste to teach the unwilling, but sometimes it is not the person who asks the question who needs my answer but others who read both. If it was not for that, then I would ignore the whole section as being a waste of time.

It's a place to give answers and if someone asks a religious question and an Atheist walks by they will give the answer that "there is no God" which then generates anger and is considered by some to be poisonous though and it is also spreading "their" relgion, but it IS an answer and that's all that counts.

Any place in which questions are posted for the public to answer is a forum for both education and debate.
It is by expressing our opinions that we develop those opinions more completely. And it is in so doing that we discover where we are wrong and what we must do to change.
Unfortunately, every truly public forum includes hecklers, scoffers and hatemongers. That's the natural state of mankind. But it would be short-sighted to assume that everbody who posts questions and answers here is the same.
If you want to be a part of society, you must learn to ignore the bad and embrace the good. But you cannot control people and hope to have peace.

For me, the purpose of being here is to learn, share my insights and opinions on things, and I like to occasionally connect with people to email or chat or whatever, to discuss different things.
I like answering questions about my faith, and others as well if there is something I can say about it. I think the main reason I'm here is to learn about different people's beliefs. I think it's good for anyone, especially religious people, to understand others, so that we can each have more intelligent and respectful conversations with those we meet who may not share our views.

the purpose of YA! was to help people know each other's community better and help communities come closer. but looking at the events here i really doubt it. when i logged onto YA! for the 1st time, i thought it would be a wonderful opprutunity to help myself in gaining knowledge, but it wasnt that way.
there are many people here on YA! -- increasing numbers day-to-day -- who come here to insult and disgust each other and other's beleifs. FEW hardly come here to learn but they come here instead to verbally abuse others. and the most dsheartening part is YA! does take NO action against them.

It's a place to ask questions and answer them, just like the rest of yahoo answers.
It just so happens that a lot more idiots visit the religion section than any other.
Intelligence is inversely related to religiosity, after all.

its for whatever questions a person feels like asking in relation to religion and spirituality. Its refreshing(to me) to read others opinions on religion. and i also like to leave my opinions to others...sometimes people get angry, but they should be expecting that seeing as there are so many different beliefs out there. you'd have to be a complete moron to think that asking a question here wont get negative responses as well as positive. this section was created to preach, learn, vent etc etc. read some questions and answers-its pretty self-explanatory

To ask and recieve answers to questions that pertain to Religion and/or Spirituality. Questions can be asked for many reasons, expanding your knowledge is but one.

According to Yahoo Answers the purpose is for others to ask questions about other religions or their own. Not for asking questions like "can you please pray for my neighbors kids?" or " Who here believes in god?" Those types of questions are not what this section was made for.
