YES! European (Germany, Italy and France) diet coke aka cocacola light is much sweeter than ours. In Korea, its not as sweet and contains less syrup, I think. Also, it is served without ice and warm in both places.

they cater to what they think that country would like best. Different places use different seasonings and they make the drink compliment the seasonings. I went to las vegas and in one place they had the coca cola plate so you can taste all the different kinds. Coke is popular in all these places, and I hated some of the ones i tasted. So maybe if they tried to sell the "american coca cola" in other places. they might hate the taste.....to each his own.....its called good business

Probably not in every country, but when I Iived in Ireland I definitely noticed that coke and pepsi both tasted different than in the States. There are probably slightly different formulas by region, at least in that the ingredients used are somewhat different. E.g. in America corn syrup is used due to a surfeit of corn; whereas I wouldn't be surprised if a substitute ingredient were used elsewhere.

Yes. Although the formula stays the same certain factors like the kind of water, Different kinds of machinery, Personal taste preference, or environmental changes can effect the taste of many drinks. I've been to Cambodia and coke there has allot more sugar in it than here. I guess because it sells better that way there.

Supposedly, since the water used would be different at each production plant. They would all use some local water source to make the product which may cause minute differences in taste.

In some countries it tastes different because different ingredients are used. Some countries use other things to substitute and that makes it taste different.

Yes, my cousin just back from Japan. She hated the food, mostly because it was all practically raw fish(with eyes---eww)! But, they did have a McDonald's, so she went there often. But the food didn't taste the same, as well as the coke. A coke tasted like a flat diet coke here<---NOT GOOD!

Yes, In Mexico and parts of Asia, it has a different taste and much more sickeningly sweet. Coke ..its the real thing. Great commercials...but why people drink that crap is beyond me. It does a body NO good.

Yes, some cultures like a sweeter coke than others. I know the coke in mexico uses real sugar instead of the corn syrup that we use in the states.
