Macademia Apple Crisp
This is an easy and lowfat dessert, great for winter nights. If you like, serve with frozen yogurt or ice cream.

1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons macadamia nuts, chopped
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
2 1/2 tablespoons chilled butter, cut into small pieces
5 cups thinly sliced apple
2 tablespoons apricot preserves

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a small bowl, combine flour, sugar, brown sugar, macadamia
nuts, and cinammon.Stir together. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or two forks, until mixture
resembles coarse meal. Set aside.
In a pregreased 8 inch baking dish, arrange apple slices. Drop apricot preserves atop apple slices
by the teaspoonfuls. Sprinkle the flour mixture over the top. Bake until golden and bubbly (35
minutes).

Apple Crisp Apples, peeled, cored & sliced 3/4 c. oats 1/2 c. (or 1 stick) margarine or butter, softened if baking the crisp (see below) 3/4 c. brown sugar 3/4 c. flour 1/4 c. sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon There are two ways I do this. First you can place your apples in the bottom of a greased 9 x 13 pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix the rest of the ingredients with an electric mixer. Sprinkle over top the apples. Bake for 45 minutes. The other way is to cook your apples in the microwave or in a saucepan. In a small bowl combine the flour, brown sugar, sugar and cinnamon. In a skillet, melt the butter or margarine with the oats. Add this flour mixture to the oats in the skillet. Stir until mixed. Put some cooked apples in a bowl and top with the oat mixture.
