How long does it take to work? Also have you heard of cats and dogs getting tapeworms from fleas, and can humans get tapeworms from the pet or the flea?

Frontline is good because it will kill fleas and ticks. However, both Frontline and Advantage are widely accepted to be the best. Advantage, however, will not kill ticks. Its really personal choice, but I would recommend either of those.

Both products will kill about 99-100% of fleas on the dog in about 12 hours. It will then give them full coverage (kill fleas, larva, eggs) for about a month. Depending on the flea problem, you might need to reapply sooner.

Yes, dogs and cats can get tapeworms from fleas. This actually, happens because the animal will actually eat most of the fleas on them by chewing at them to itch themselves. If the flea is infected, the dog or cat can pick up tapeworms. (fleas carry the tapeworms eggs on their bodies)

Most likely, you won't suffer from tapeworms, but you should never wait to treat a flea problem.

Edit: I did some research. Its VERY rare for humans to get tapeworms from fleas. Most cases, children will get them by ingesting the flea on accident. It can be treated. Other sources of tapeworms come from undercooked fish and sushi.

The Frontline will do the job and it may take a while before the fleas are gone, depending on the extent of their presence in your house. You may have to treat the house or carpet. Put a flea collar in your vacuum cleaner bag and that will kill any fleas or eggs that you vacuum up.

Cats do get tapeworms from fleas. If your cat has one you can usually see little rice-like segments in its bedding and the vet can give you medication for that. Humans do not get tapeworms from their cats or fleas.

Frontline works on my 2 dogs but only for about 2-3 weeks. After the 3rd week I spray them with some Adams Fleas spray and it will keep all fleas off until it's time to treat them with the Frontline again.

Frontline does work good for fleas. It should just take about a day I think to work. Possibly quicker. Advantage works great for flea control also. I don't for sure how you get tapeworms but it is possible for humans to get them.

It starts working as soon as you apply it. no, humans can't get tapeworms from animals. the only kind of worms that a human can get from an animal is ringworm. you can get frontline at a pet store that only sells premium dog food like eagle pack or natures variety.
