when in fact they are just imitating trends?
i HAVE A UNIQUE PERSPECTIVE.I changed careers from carpenter to retailer /wholesaler of body piercing jewelery.4 years now . I just see so much of people doing something that they think is cool.But in reality if it wasnt a trend, most of them wouldnt be doing it.So how is it that they think they are being rebels or expressing themselves when they are just expressing marketing trends?

I think these people do this because of the taboo there parents have put on it or the world just to show that they do not care what the world says they are going to do it not really to express themselves but out of spite. These people generally have a problem with authority and do not like to be bossed around by people so when they are told not to do something they do it ust because they are told not to not because they are really wwant it that way. My dad calls this the forbidden fruit syndrome. People always want something they cannot have and when you tell them not to do something they always do it. This is the nature of people. Look at little kids, they can be playing along without a care in the world about going downstairs and the second you are going to leave for a second and tell them not to go down there they magically can not resist the temptation and almost always do it even though before you said it they had no interest in going down there. We are alot like little kids especially in our teenage years and early 20s. when we are in this stage of life when we say we are expressing our individuality this doesn't really mean we do not want to look like the rest of the people it simply means we do not want to look like our parents or grown-ups. Also these people in this age group generally do not have the responsibilities that older people have such as work and a family to support so they do not think of the long term affects of there actions. Phycologist have done studies on people of this age range to see how they see the world and 99 out of 100 teenagers cannot discern the difference between someone who is mad and someone who is happy. When the conducted this study they found the average teenager thinks that most people are mad or upset with them and the thoughts can last up into the early 20s. This is just one study I have read and seen on tv. If these people do not have an accurate grasp on reality in those areas it is easy to see how they may not hav it in the area you were wondering about.

Maybe doing what they feel like doing is enough to compensate for the lack of individuality...

I'd like to get my eyebrow pierced, but three of my friends have them. That doesn't mean that I'll give up on getting one; I don't mind being a "clone" if it's what makes me happy.


I admit that some people really think that they're being individuals by dressing a certain way, or getting this tattoo or that hairstyle, but there are those of us who, though we may seem like sheep, recognize the trend and choose to disregard it. :D

I have 2 tattoos, and I got them because I like them and I got them in places where you can't see them unless I show you, so you can't say I did it for trend. And what do you care, you're making money of kids following a trend, stop complaining.

i think of it may be large. Sharing the comparable religious ideals does not propose that we could all be clones. If every physique became choosing to maintain on with that comparable perception then they could be allowed to specific individuality, in basic terms in diff procedures than diff ideals. you're making it sound such as you're asking if that's going to be compelled that every physique save on with my ideals. If every physique became choosing to be the comparable ideals as mine and positively observed them then i think of this international could be a lots happier and non violent place. the project which includes your question is which you're making it sound like every physique in the comparable faith is strictly alike and that this could be a concern the place every physique became compelled into being in the comparable faith. people in the comparable faith have very diff traits, personalities, skills and ideology exterior of religion. If every physique became choosing to be in the comparable faith then they wouldnt experience the ought to revolt or experience oppressed by using being that faith.
