I'm African, and i have thick, long to the shoulders hair. And i want to know how to maintain it. I want it to stay flat instead of puffy, but i'll like for the thickness to stay ther. And how can i make it longer?

If you want hair to grow faster, you have to take supplements that work on your body chemistry to support hair's growth and strength at its genesis.....once it has grown out, it is just dead keratin
Try GNC, they make a supplement called "Nourishair" in formulas for men and women..they are HUGE pills and you have to take 2 daily. There is also a "Hair skin and nails" formula from Andrew Lessman that you can google, that has great ingredients and is easier to swallow, made by ProCaps labs. You can also take large doses of Biotin, sometimes called Vitamin H, take no less than 2500 micrograms daily to support healthy hair growth.

Keep your hair healthy. Shower daily with shampoo that works for your hair. People say don't worry about the shampoo, it won't do any harm. It's not true, it can damage your hair if you use the wrong shampoo. One shower with the wrong shampoo is no big deal, until it becomes a habit. Trims every 6 months are good and it makes your hair look healthy and it'll make your hair grow evenly. On hot days, remember to wear hats so you won't burn your hair and also, use conditioner.

your hair length is already determined by genetics. just like your leg hair and pubic hair will not grow past a certain point, the hair on your head will stop growing at a certain point. some people can not have hair down to their butt, but the best way to encourage growth is to keep it healthy with conditioning treatments, regular visits to the stylists for trims and what not... and maybe even cheat and take prenatal vitamins... they encourage rapid hair and fingernail growth :) as for the frizzing... smoothing serum, in moderation... and keep it off of your scalp, or else you'll have a greasy head and dried out ends. good luck and happy growing lol

I read in a magazine that if you want to get longer hair here are 2 things that you can do-

1. Get 1/2 in trimmed every 3 month
2. Take a multi-vitamin pill everyday

get a relaxer keep it trimmed buy Doo Groo hair products shampoo and conditioner.
Use Henna Placenta conditioner daily and hair mayonnaise condition and carols daughter hair products , sleep with satin hair scarf on your head... and if you want more length get hair extensions , but i wouldn't recommend it but i does make the hair grow but if not taken care of it could break it off .. i wear extensions and i helped my hair grown out and i kept it up with regular salon visits , but now i wear my hair naturally curly and let my hair stylist press my hair with a flat iron and after that she greases my scalp with hair food grease, washes my head with Sulfur8 hair products for natural hair that isn't relaxed.. I just keep my hair curly when i don't make the salon visits.. i use the curl activator gel product to keep the curl soft and less tight and i use setting lotion to get those deep waves A loose spiral deep wave look like the chic from the show half and half

Hair Length:

-Healthy Diet,
-Multi-vitaman
-Trim out Split ends.
Prevent hair damage by:
-Using Anti-Breakage Shampoo/Conditer (Theres one by Tresemme)
-A Heat Tamer (I use Tresemme) if you curl/straighten your hair.
-Brush your hair with a wide tooth comb when its wet to prevent breakage.

If you want your hair to stay flat I suggest (Although never had it done) A relaxer on your hair. Yes that is damage but keep up your hair so it can be healthy.

Don't get hair extensions-That actually isn't good if your goal is to eventually grow out your hair.
